Steven Haddad Joins Extremity Medical as Chief Clinical Officer

Extremity Medical has hired Steven L Haddad, M.D., as chief clinical officer. In his new role, Haddad will oversee the development of the company’s product/technology portfolio as well as new medical education courses and clinical studies.
 
Haddad brings over 25 years of clinical, academic and industry experience to the position. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in ankle replacement surgery, complex ankle reconstruction, foot and ankle deformity correction, and ankle arthritis management. He is also an educator and researcher that has participated in numerous clinical and basic science research studies.
 
Haddad is the current CME chair for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS); past president of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) and serves on the Orthopaedic Learning Center Board of Directors. He has developed numerous courses for both the AOFAS and AAOS. He has edited or co-edited eight books and journals and authored or co-authored more than 50 journal articles and book chapters. He has given hundreds of scholarly presentations worldwide, including in Australia, South America, South Africa, and throughout North America and Europe.
 
Haddad earned a bachelor’s degree in honors biology from the University of Michigan in 1985 and a Doctorate in Medicine from Johns Hopkins University in 1989. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Georgetown University and a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. He has served as faculty at both Northwestern University Medical School and University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and received numerous awards and academic honors including the Roger A. Mann Award from AOFAS and the James K. Stack Resident Teaching Award from Northwestern.
